Brass & Bourbon Society ("we," "us") runs brassandbourbonsociety.com. This page explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain, the same way we write everything else.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, your email address and your message. When you sign up for our newsletter, we receive your email address (and your name, if you share it).
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours collects basic technical information when you visit: your browser type, device, approximate location (city or region), the pages you view, and the site that sent you here. This comes through cookies and similar tools used by our website host and the services listed below.
How we use it
To answer your messages.
To send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.
To understand which guides people read, so we can write better ones.
To keep the site secure and working properly.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Services we rely on
Squarespace hosts this website, our forms and our newsletter list, and provides our site analytics. Squarespace processes this information on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
Affiliate programs. Some links on this site are affiliate links, including links through the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and other affiliate networks. When you click one, the retailer or network may place a cookie on your device so the purchase can be credited to us. Those companies handle that information under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details or what else you buy.
Social media. If you follow a link to our Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook pages, those platforms' privacy policies apply there.
Cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features (and the credit we receive on affiliate purchases) may not.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to remove you from our mailing list. Just email us at the address below. If you live in California, you have these rights under California law, including the right to know what we collect and the right to ask us to delete it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will never treat you differently for asking.
Our site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.
How long we keep it
We keep messages and newsletter sign-ups only as long as we need them for the reasons above, or until you ask us to delete them.
Grown-ups only
Our guides are about whiskey and cigar accessories and are meant for adults of legal drinking and smoking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, please let us know and we will delete it.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top.
